________________________________________________________________________ CHANGES FROM VERSION 2.0x NEW LOOK ========== The graphic style of the user interface has been changed to match the "new" style of Windows, due out soon from Microsoft. MULTISESSION ============== Multisession discs can now be created as CD-ROM or CD-ROM XA; the only limitation is that every session on a multisession disc MUST BE CLOSED IN THE SAME FORMAT. In standard version all discs are Mode 1; in MM version you can make Mode 2 discs if desired, but it is no longer necessary for multisession. Please read Chapter 5 of the manual, "Recording Multisession Discs," for details. SIMULATION ============ It is no longer possible to simulate from a virtual CD image. You must create a real ISO 9660 image and simulate using the LOADCD utility. The drivers needed for simulation are no longer installed automatically; see chapter 6 of the manual, "Simulating CD Performance" for instructions. NO LIMITS =========== There is no longer any limit on the number of files that can be written in one virtual image database. When you reach 20,000 files, you will see a message "database being adjusted; please wait," and after about ten seconds you can continue working. The same thing happens again at 40,000 files. DRIVERS ========= All the device drivers have been updated to keep up with changes in the CD recorder firmware. BUFFERING =========== Buffering has been improved for more robust writing. The improvement will be particularly noticeable in writing audio on the older Philips CDD 521, and in writing on-the-fly to the Pinnacle and JVC. CUE SHEET =========== There have been some minor changes to the Cue Sheet interface; see Chapter 7 of the manual for details. CHANGES TO THE MANUAL ======================= The manual now includes a chapter (Chapter 10) on "Factors in Writing to CD" which explains some of the technical issues and limitations of CD recorders, and a Troubleshooting chapter (Chapter 12) explaining some common problems and error messages. ________________________________________________________________________ HOW TO GET TECHNICAL SUPPORT If you are having trouble with the application or the CD recorder, follow these steps: 1. For set-up and connection problems with the CD recorder, refer to the troubleshooting section of its user manual. If you still have problems, please contact technical support for your CD recorder. 2. For questions and problems relating to the application, refer to the Troubleshooting section of the User Manual for common problems and solutions. If that doesn't solve the problem, note any error messages reported by the program and the configuration of your computer. Have your notes in hand and contact incatsystems technical support at 408-379-2400. If possible, be at the computer where the software is installed so you will be prepared to answer any questions about the set up or the problem you are experiencing. ________________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in learning more about CD technology, may we humbly suggest our book, "Publish Yourself On CD-ROM".
