Power OFF the system. 2. Switch the ME FRC UPDT jumper. Details regarding the jumper ID and location can be obtained from the Board EPS for that Platform. 4. Power ON the system. 5. Enter Setup and verify Error manager displays 83A0 error code 6. Boot to EfiShell and update ME if necessary 7. AC OFF the system, and revert the ME FRC UPDT jumper position to "normal operation". 8. Power ON the system. 9. Enter setup and verify Error Manager does not display 83A0 error code Note 1 : ME will continuously monitor recovery jumper. Whenever ME FRC UPDT is asserted ME will immediately switch to recovery mode. AC Power cycle is required after de-asserting ME FRC UPDT jumper for ME to function normally. Note 2 : When MC FRC UPDT jumper is asserted with AC OFF, ME will restore to factory default settings. ================================================================================ ME FW Capsule INSTALLATION NOTES ================================================================================ WARNING: It is very important to follow these instructions as they are written. Failure to update using the proper procedure may cause damage to your system. !!!!! AC failure during update may cause damage to your system and be unrecoverable !!!!! Please follow the below procedure to update ME using UEFI iFlash32 12.0 Build 4 1. Boot the system to EFI Shell 2. Download ME release package 3. Unzip the ME release package to HD or USB Flash Drive 3. Map the respective storage device in system with the command Shell> map -r 4. Change the Shell to mapped device file system Example: Shell> fs0: (or fs1:) 5. Run the IFlash32 utility on the prompt. Use ME_xx_xx_xx_xxx.cap file when ME operational Image update is required. Use MEComplete_xx_xx_xx_xxx.cap file when Only whole ME Image update is required. fs0:\> IFlash32 [File Name] /u /ni 6. Reboot system after the update is completed. ================================================================================ KNOWN ISSUES in 04.00.03.096 release ================================================================================ 1. ME FW is non responsive on SMLink0 in S5 after G3 after SPI image flash followed by CMOS clear. 2. Cannot set TR Delay to 0(disabled) in General NM Presets. 3. FW does not perform global reset after CPU replacement after S5 exit. ================================================================================ Issues fixed in 04.00.03.096 release ================================================================================ 1. Sporadical system blackout during warm reset stressed test. 2. system cannot enter package C3 state(C232). ================================================================================ Issues fixed in 04.00.03.094 release ================================================================================ No Release Notes for now since still it's a candidate one. ================================================================================ KNOWN ISSUES in 04.00.03.089 release ================================================================================ No Release Notes for now since still it's a candidate one. ================================================================================ Issues fixed in 04.00.03.089 release ================================================================================ No Release Notes for now since still it's a candidate one. ================================================================================ KNOWN ISSUES in 04.00.03.075 release ================================================================================ 1. AF hang when booting with SKX and LBG - At warm reset. 2. Please include PMC patch for SMI storm issue. 3. Online update too slow. 4. Get NM Statistics command reports Nominal Reading at SDR "Typical Power Consumption in Sx" as power consumption in S0 with power readings from PSU. 5. ME FW keeps sending Alert Immediate commands even though BMC responds with 81h completion code. 6. Platform does not wake up after power button override. 7. DID is not present first time after image burn. AC cycle needed. 8. Cannot set TR Delay to 0 (disabled) in General NM Presets. 9. Enable Command Timed out during ash update. 10. Cold Reset takes too much time. 11. ME ColdReset in M3 state causes that FW stops responding. 12. No Node Manager power limiting during PTU power characterization. 13. After SMBAlert# line assertion in 8 PSUs conguration ME FW internal exception is observed. 14. After Power Button Override execution system cannot be waken up correctly. 15. ME Ipmi Cold Reset command doesn’t work correctly in M3 power state. 16. After multiple quick assertions and de-assertions of SMBAlert, platform stays throttled for few seconds. 17. ME FW stops polling PSUs statuses after S0-Sx-S0 transition with SMBAlert# line asserted. 18. Sizes of the CSE partitions in the flash image are not constant between releases. 19. FW does not perform global reset after CPU replacement after S5 exit. 20. Platform may not wake up coorectly out of S4 state. ================================================================================ Issues fixed in 04.00.03.075 release ================================================================================ 1. ME partition corruption results in ME hang. 2. unexpected SMART-CLST event during DC cycle with PMBus 1.1 PSUs 3. ME FW is accessing PSUs when autoconguration is switched to BMC 4. Get NM Statistics command reports 100% for maximum memory throttling. 5. ME FW is sending NM Health Event - Power Sensor Reading Failure alert for domain 3.
